FIRE DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEMS
Fire detection and alarm systems are critical components of modern building safety infrastructure. Designed to detect fire at its incipient stage through smoke, heat, or gas sensors, these systems promptly trigger audible and visual alarms to alert occupants. By enabling timely evacuation and early intervention, they significantly reduce risks to life and property. These systems are indispensable for large-scale facilities such as industrial plants, commercial complexes, and high-occupancy buildings.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING AND EVACUATION GUIDANCE SYSTEMS
Emergency lighting and evacuation guidance systems ensure safe and efficient occupant egress during fire incidents or other emergencies. Automatically activated during power outages, they illuminate escape routes and direct individuals toward the nearest emergency exits, minimizing evacuation time. These systems are mandatory in compliance with fire safety regulations for buildings such as shopping centers, hotels, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities.
CLEAN AGENT FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS & CO₂ EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS
At KENZAKI Engineering, we offer a comprehensive range of fire suppression solutions tailored to meet the demands of any emergency scenario. Whether your needs are residential, commercial, or industrial, we provide the most suitable fire suppression systems to help you meet insurance requirements and ensure maximum fire safety.
Clean agent and CO₂ fire suppression systems are specifically designed to protect sensitive and critical environments. Clean agent systems, such as FM-200 and Novec 1230, utilize environmentally friendly gases to suppress fires quickly and efficiently—without leaving residue or damaging equipment. These systems allow the protected area to return to normal operation in a short time.
CO₂ extinguishing systems, on the other hand, suppress fires by displacing oxygen, effectively “suffocating” the fire. This makes them ideal for areas with electrical equipment, transformer rooms, and spaces containing flammable liquids.
Both systems provide rapid and reliable fire suppression, preventing escalation while protecting high-value assets and ensuring operational continuity.
CO₂ GAS FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) fire suppression systems control and extinguish fires by reducing the oxygen concentration in the protected area, effectively suffocating the fire. Utilizing high-pressure CO₂ gas, these systems deliver a rapid and efficient response to fire outbreaks.
CO₂ systems are ideal for protecting areas such as electrical panels, transformer rooms, and spaces containing flammable liquids, where the use of water or foam-based systems may not be suitable.
However, due to its asphyxiating effect at high concentrations, CO₂ should be used with caution in normally occupied areas. Proper safety measures and warning systems are essential to ensure personnel safety during discharge.
FM-200 (HFC-227ea) CLEAN AGENT FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
FM-200 fire suppression systems utilize a highly effective clean agent gas to deliver rapid fire response without compromising sensitive equipment. Non-conductive and residue-free, FM-200 extinguishes fires without depleting oxygen levels, making it safe for use around electronic and electrical assets.
Because the gas leaves no residue upon discharge, there is no clean-up required, allowing protected areas to return to operation with minimal downtime. This makes FM-200 an ideal solution for critical environments where continuity and cleanliness are essential.
Typical applications include:
- Data centers
- Archive rooms
- Laboratories
- Control rooms
These systems combine fast suppression, minimal environmental impact, and asset protection in one reliable package.
ROOM INTEGRITY TEST
Room integrity testing is crucial for the effectiveness of gas-based fire suppression systems. For these systems to operate efficiently within a defined volume, the protected area must meet specific airtightness requirements.
FM-200, NOVEC 1230, CO₂, and Inert Gas Suppression Systems are designed and engineered specifically for sealed and enclosed spaces. Without proper room integrity, the extinguishing agent may not maintain the required concentration, compromising fire suppression performance and safety.
Why Is Room Integrity Important?
For gas-based fire suppression systems to extinguish a fire effectively, the extinguishing agent must maintain the required concentration within the protected enclosure for a specific duration after discharge.
- Extinguishing Concentration: The contents within the protected area must remain exposed to the gas for a minimum of 10 minutes to ensure proper fire suppression.
- Agent Effectiveness: To meet the suppression system’s performance expectations, airtightness of the room is essential. Any leakage may lead to premature dissipation of the gas, rendering the system ineffective.
How Is a Room Integrity Test Performed?
The test is conducted using calibrated equipment and specially designed fans. Architectural details of the room, ambient temperature, and the type and capacity of the installed suppression system are entered into specialized software to simulate the retention behavior of the extinguishing agent.
Test Procedure:
- Specialized equipment is mounted on the room’s entry door.
- A calibrated fan measures the air leakage rate within the enclosure.
- The software calculates how long the suppression agent will remain at the required concentration level in the room.
Test Results:
A detailed report is generated based on current measurements and includes the exact date and time of the test. The report is then submitted to the client for documentation and compliance purposes.

ENCLOSURE (PANEL) FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
Enclosure fire suppression systems are specifically designed to detect and extinguish fires that may occur within small, confined spaces such as electrical panels. Operating 24/7, these systems help minimize fire risks caused by electrical faults and component failures.
Thanks to polymer tube-type linear heat detectors, the system detects rising temperatures or flames rapidly. Once activated, the pressurized extinguishing agent is discharged directly into the enclosure, bringing the fire under control in seconds.
With its low cost, compact design, and easy installation, this system provides an efficient fire protection solution for tight spaces.
“Effective protection against invisible threats.”
